SWS Fashion Friday - Many Dancefloors, Many Shoe (Clip)s
Friday, April 2nd, 2010As someone who primarily owns a lot of black cocktail dresses and feels dedicated (right now) to utilizing what already lives in my closet instead of buying a new dress, maybe dress daydreaming should not be my focus today. Maybe my focus should really be on investing in smart accessories, like a really well-made pair of black heels and a variety of shoe clips. Shoe clips, eh?
Keep in mind I have never owned shoe clips and never once before thought of buying them. To be honest, the idea of these clips seemed a little tacky. But in thinking of not-so-tacky ways to save money I had to believe there were some good eggs out there as shoe clips suddenly seemed like the smartest, go-to solution for my many affairs and events this wedding season.
So where did I find affordable, stylish, well-produced and versatile shoe clips? An online shop called Absolutely Audrey. As this designer is in love with all-things that represent the style of Audrey Hepburn I therefore spent quite some time checking out her vintage, and vintage-inspired shoe clips. I adore Audrey Hepburn.
The price range seems to be between $15 and $30 per pair. Totally reasonable. In my opinion the materials look well-manufactured and long-lasting and the styles are classic, elegant and fun which translates to wearable for both a black-tie affair, and a Miami Bachelorette party. Why not buy two pairs and have three different looks for my theoretical hot black heels.
So happy SWS Fashion Friday. I would love to know what you think of these shoe clips so post a comment below. And if you yourself have used shoe clips to accessorize, are there other brands you recommend? Post away. I hope this helps you work with what you already got!
Best Wishes,
Elle
