Bridal Shower Yoga On The Beach
Of course for Yoga On The Beach, you need a beach.
But if you’ve got one, we highly recommend getting out there for a little fun in the sun.

We just participated in a Bachelorette Party weekend getaway on Coronado Island in Southern California. From Los Angeles the drive was about two hours and the island is about twenty-minutes from San Diego International Airport so out-of-towners were conveniently able to make it too.
The lovely Maid Of Honor organized the entire weekend trip and one of our most favorite activities was Yoga On The Beach which was her gift to the group. Bamboo Yoga & Bodywork Center organized a private group lesson for us and did an amazing job of accommodating all levels of fitness and medical history. We spent over an hour learning how to do not only yoga in the sand (the postures are a bit different when the ground is not solid), but also yoga in the ocean (where balancing on the ground is an even more mythical concept).
Our instructor not only worked with us individually but focused on postures and poses that were all about fun and partner work. What a great way to incorporate the concepts of marriage and friendship into a yoga practice. And, when it was all said and done we had snacks and iced chai waiting for us after our cool down.
Every single one of us ladies had an incredible time. And even if you dont have a beach nearby, what’s stopping you from calling your local yoga studioand setting up a private group class for either a bridal shower or bachelorette party. We can attest it’s a great, active group event and certainly creates a theme for your party.
More Survive Wedding Season Coronado Island & San Diego Bachelorette Party Picks:
Where to stay:
Hotel del Coronado, 1500 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118, 800.468.3533
The historic Hotel del Coronado was built in 1888 and was the backdrop to the film Some Like It Hot. We got a great group rate and spent two days going between The Del’s pool and the beach.
Where to go out:
If you don’t want to leave the hotel, we recommend The Del’s Eno Wine Room for a wine flight, some cheese and olives. But if you do want to get out on the town, a taxi from the hotel to San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter is about $20 including tip so depending on the size of your party maybe set aside $10 to $15 to cover your round trip.
Where to eat:
Cafe Sevilla of San Diego, 555 Fourth Ave, Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. Tapas are perfect for groups and the sangria was delicious. Cafe Sevilla was fun, tasty, packed (always a good sign), totally affordable, had great service and a live band.
What to pack:
Champagne, water, sunscreen, bathing suits, flip flops, ipod, a sweater, and some party clothes.

Namaste! If you feel good about yourself, let’s face it, it shows! All too many people seem to give too much authority to the opinions of others.
