Expert Survival Tip: The Bride’s Garter - Unique & Personal Shower Gift
As we here at Survive Wedding Season are always on the lookout for fabulously unique and affordable wedding-related gifts we were delighted to come across garter designer, Julianne Smith. Julianne - aka the Garter Girl - had her designs recently featured on NBC’s Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda. These gorgeous garters are definitely something any bride can appreciate and Julianne can custom-design garters to go with any wedding color scheme or theme.
Here to discuss the Wedding Garter as Bridal gift is Julianne Smith:
I am always on the hunt for a great wedding shower present that will surprise the bride and wow the other guests. With a wedding registry, yes the couple gets what they want. But, they already know what is coming and so does everyone else.
Some of the best wedding garters that I have recently made have actually not been for the brides themselves, but have been for a friend of the bride to give as a shower or bachelorette party present. Every time, the friends designing the gifts have so much fun picking out a wedding garter that will show off their bride’s personality.
Gone are the days of wedding garters being boring and unmentionable. Garters today are chic, stylish and a great way for a bride to be herself on her wedding day. Is it polka dots? Is it animal print? Is it a favorite sports team? Whatever “it” is, there is a garter out there to match every bride’s style.
Even if the bride isn’t doing the traditional wedding garter reception “event”, brides can still take part in one of the oldest wedding traditions just by wearing one and saving it for their groom to remove on his own time.
A wedding garter is an unexpected shower present that will get everyone’s attention - especially the attention of the bride. Not because others will be jealous that they didn’t think of this savvy gift idea (which they might), but because others will instantly know that you took the time to pick out a special present for your important friend. With something unique it shows you thought about the details and what the bride-to-be would like. Plus, you went out of your way to get her something personal that she will be able to save forever.
